We’re into songs with banjos about drinking booze and eating deep fried lasagna. That’s what Beer & Pig is all about! Sadly, we have not found any songs like that. That’s why you have to be willing to take two out of three of those concepts in your music as often as you can. Those are the types of sacrifices one must be prepared to make when one adopts the Meat Eating/Day Drinking lifestyle.
We’re all in luck, because when it comes to passing around a bottle and picking on the banjer? There aren’t many that do it better than Benjamin Lee Paterson and The Brother’s Rye. Based in Cap Cod, these guys blend some of our favorite kinds of music into a toe-tapping, washboard slapping, moonshine sipping puree.
Self described as an “Outlaw Country Americana Bluegrass Jugband,” The Brother’s Rye recently debuted their new EP on iTunes. We had a chance to have one of our “Cooler-Side Chats” with their songwriting, whisky swilling lead singer and chew the fat. He’s a good egg and he makes music with instruments.
