Here at Beer & Pig, we like to stay at the forefront of developing beer technology. If it holds, pours, or is tangentially related to delicious brewed beverages, our team of drinkers are combing the far reaches of the wide world of beer to find it. Now I know that’s a lot of inflated language, but basically it means we’re always looking for new ways to funnel beer down our gullets.
Introducing The Sub, a new home draught beer system by Krups, available in select markets currently but set for a wide release in the future. Boasting the ability to chill beer to 2°, a freshness guarantee, and perfect pouring, The Sub uses beer “torps” to deliver draft beer in the comfort of your home. Each Torp contains roughly 8 glasses of beer, stays fresh for 15 days once opened, and can be delivered right to your door.
Right now The Sub listed online is the “Heineken” edition, and the Torps offered are limited to: Heineken, Desperados, Birra Moretti Baffo D’Oro from Italy, Affligem from Belgium, Pelforth Blonde from France, and Wieckse from Holland. However, The Sub is made by an appliance manufacturer Krups, not a beer company, so hopefully the technology will be opened up to more beer brands.
