Named after a hero from the Revolutionary war, Natty Greene’s is one of our favorite Craft Beer brewers on the market. During the Beer & Pig crew’s frequent pilgrimages to the Outer Banks, many a bottle of Natty Greene’s Southern Pale Ale has been consumed I don’t mind telling you. Based in Greensboro, North Carolina, the brewer has recently expanded onto the shelves in our home base of Virginia.
With that in mind, we caught up with Kayne Fisher, founder of Natty Greene’s Brewing Co., about the history of the company, the brewing conditions in North Carolina, the craft beer revolution, and all things Natty Greene’s.
Born out of a love for craft beer, Natty Greene’s Brewing Company started brewing it’s own beer in 2004, for their pub in Greensboro. Just 9 years later the company now has two brew house restaurants and a production brewery. Natty Greene’s bottled offerings currently include 4 year round brews and a number of seasonal beers as well. With selections sporting names like Freedom American IPA and Buckshot Amber Ale, they clearly are a brewer that fits right into the Beer & Pig lifestyle.
